Despite rumors that he might return sooner rather than later, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will not be returning anytime soon following recent knee surgery, despite trying to push for a return:

Stanley Burrell, also known as MC Hammer, announced today that he's getting into the MMA business with Alchemist Management, a new management and "brand-building" firm based out of Los Angeles.

"I've been a fan of combat sports for years," MC Hammer stated today in a press release. "MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world and this is a great opportunity for us to launch a full-service management company."

UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen knows he’ll have to push his verbal warfare strategy to the limit to rattle champion Anderson Silva’s cage.

Sonnen continued that onslaught during a media conference call on Tuesday touting the UFC 117 championship bout, which takes place on Aug. 7 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

During the call, the 35-year-old Silva, speaking through translator and manager Ed Soares, often gave short “yes” and “no” answers to his questions, which prompted the U.S. Olympic wrestling team alternate to attack his promoting skills.

The goal of any good fighter is to be the best he can be, defeat all his opponents in a matter of seconds, get several victories and be feared by other fighters, right?

Well, Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira has reached that desirable point in his career: he has not lost a fight in four years, he is willing to fight anybody at 185 or 205 pounds. His last seven fights lasted a total of nine minutes all ending in first round submissions.
