UFC 87 is upon us and The NHB Show will be live blogging the show. Can Jon Fitch unseat GSP at welterweight? Will Brock Lesnar prove that he can transition from Professional Wrestling to MMA? Is Roger Huerta for real and can he defeat the ever-dangerous Ken-Flo? All these questions and more will be decided on this card. Refresh often as the Play-by-Play will be posted after each round.
Demian Maia vs. Jason MacDonald
R1 - The first round starts with demian in the south paw stance. A nice kick is thrown x 3 by Demian and Jason clinches. Demian pulls guard immediately and the ground battle begins. Jason works for the pass but Demian blocks it with butterfly and underhooks. Demian throws up the leg and gets the triangle. Demian sinks it in tight but Jason is hanging in there strong. Demian throws some elbows but Jason eventually flips him and ends up on Demian's back with deep hooks. Demian eventually gets guard back and Jason starts to work again with shoulder shrugs to Maia's face. Jason tries to stand back up but Demian rolls forward in a single attempt and Jason jumps back forward. Jason tries for a guillotine but Demian flips him and gets himself out of danger. Demian is bleeding but he transitions quickly and gets Jason's back. He sinks in a body triangle and works for the RNC. Jason is fighting it off but Demian keeps sinking it in deeper. Time is running out on the round and Jason fights off a DEEP triangle to end the round
R2 - Round two starts and Jason is loaded for bear but Demian gets two shots straight up the pipe and Jason bulls forward for the clinch. They struggle against the cage and Demian gets a good plumb clinch and throws some knees, then gets a nice single leg trip, advancing to full mount. Jason tries to hip escape but Maia really starts to pour on the GNP with punches and elbows. Jason's bell is getting rang as Maia continues with the onslaught. Jason keeps trying to buck Maia but to no avail as Demian keeps up the relentless punches and Jason is barely defending himself. Jason finally controls the body after Demian rests and manages to hip escape into half guard. Demian flips back and then rolls for an armbar but Jason is so slippery that he escapes out to guard. The round ends with Jason on top.
R3 - Demian immediately shoots for a single to start the third round and secures it. Jason defends with a guillotine attempt and then flips Demian on his back. After a long struggle, Demian gets an underhook and flips Jason, gaining mount again. He lays the smack down with massive elbows forcing Jason to flip and then tries to sink the RNC. Demian gets the arm under the chin and sinks the choke, forcing Jason to tap or pass out.

Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta
R1 - First round starts with Roger getting the first kick. Florian answer and they continue to feint and kick, back and forth. Kenny gets a nice inside leg kick and follows it up with a solo kick. They trade kicks and Kenny catches one and bulls through for the takedown. Kenny then gets the mount and smothers Roger. Roger flips to escape the elbows and Florian makes him pay but Huerta escapes and they are back on their feet and in the center of the cage. Roger is loading up the right hands as Kenny comes in with some low kicks, but he isn't landing yet. Kenny flies in with a knee but Roger catches him and with his strength drives him against the cage. Kenny gets a short elbow in and they break to move to the middle. Kenny gets two knees in from a plumb clinch before Roger can fight his way out. Both exchange with Roger getting the advantage slightly. The round ends and both go to their corner.
R2 - Kenny gets the first kick to start the second round and seems to be using looking for the angles. Roger comes forward with a switch kick and then lands a nice left. He then shoots in for a single and looks for the ankle pick. Kenny escapes and they come back to the center of the cage. Kenny gets a single but Roger counters with a Kimura attempt across the body and even throws some elbows to the side of Kenny's head. Kenny eventually gets him down, advances to side guard, Roger rolls and gives up his back. After a short sequence, Roger escapes and they get back to their feet. Kenny gets a nice front leg sweep off an exchange. The leg kicks are hurting Roger and he is starting to check them. Roger lunges in and Kenny makes him pay with a knee. Kenny gets a nice Plumb clinch and Roger isn't fighting out and just trying to use strength to save him. Kenny opens up at the end of the round, putting together kicks and punches. Roger is visibly gassed but the round finally ends.
R3 - Third round starts and Kenny throws a straight up kick. Kenny then lands 2 HUGE KNEES and is schooling Roger. He trips Roger and then goes for a knee bar but Roger scoots out and takes it away. Kenny lands in guard and goes to work but Roger rolls to his feet off a scuffle. They exchange with Roger getting the better and Kenny looks a little gassed from the excitement at the first of the round. Both are swinging wildly and barely missing. Kenny lands yet another up-kick FROM ON HIS FEET to the jaw of Roger. Huerta does land a nice right but Kenny just squirts away. Kenny remains elusive as he 45's off and counters Roger's offense. They go back and forth with Roger landing some knees but not enough for the win.
Kenny Florian wins by Unanimous Decision
Manny Gamburyan vs. Rob Emerson
R1 - Manvel comes out and tries to throw a bomb but Rob Emerson answers with his own straight up the pipe but his lands and drops Manvel instantly. He follows up from his knees with a hook as Manny scrambles which instantly puts Gamburyan out and the referee jumps in to save him.
Rob Emerson wins by TKO in the first round (12 seconds).
Cheick Congo vs. Dan Evennson
R1 - First round starts with both fighters feinting. They tie up against the cage and Cheick gets the single, taking him down to the ground in a mat-shaking thump. Cheick grabs the ankle, stretches the leg and lands a thumping kick to the leg, forcing Dan to hold it. The referee stands Dan back up and they again clinch with Cheick man-handling Dan against the cage. Dan tries for a guillotine and gets it in deep but Cheick pops his head out. Congo drops down for a lower single and eventually get Dan to the ground, applying some nasty GNP from half guard. Cheick eventually stands back up and keeps applying the punishing leg kicks. Dan finally stand, Kongo throws a liver kick that stuns Dan, Cheick then lands a HUGE right that drops Dan to the mat. Cheick follows him to the mat, mercilessly applying the GNP until the referee steps in and stops the match.

Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring
R1 - First round starts and Brock makes a running pass that misses. He follows up with a punch to the temple of Heath that drops him and bull rushes in. He secures a tight guillotine on the Crazy Horse but can't finish it. They separate and Brock shoots in off a wild punch by Heath. Brock then gets a nice punch from up top and lunges in yet again. Heath is bleeding on his face and Heath gives up his back in a classic turtle position. Brock continues to pepper Herring with punches while he lays on Heath's back. Heath tries to roll into a triangle but Brock stuffs him back down. Heath catches and put 2 on 1 of Brock's arms. Brock answers with a knee to the ribs of Herring but Heath answers with an elbow to Brock's face while faced down. Brock gets a cross body and continues to manhandle Heath on his back. Brock starts to taunt Heath while on his back and peppers him with knees to the ribs as the horn sounds to finish the round.
R2 - They are both up for round two with Heath looking more tired than Brock. Lesnar tries to bull in for the takedown but Heath stuffs him. Herring tries for a Kata Gumi but ends up giving Brock his back. Heath rolls but Brock lands in side position in total control. They scramble, Brock lands in full mount, Heath rolls again but Brock won't sink hooks from the back. Brock rains down knees to the spine of Heath as they sit in an odd position. Herring finally gets up with a minute left in the round. Brock lands a MASSIVE knee and Heath looks utterly exhausted but manages to fight and get a knee of his own. They stumble with Brock getting Heath's back as the horn sounds.
R3 - Brock smiles across the cage as he sees Heath's hashed up face. The round starts and Herring rushes in for the clinch. They trade body shots for knees and Brock lays in some massive rib shots. Heath stumbles, Brock takes his back and lays there, throwing occasional knees to Heath's backs. Heath tries for a Kimura but Brock counters with the mount and puts Heath in trouble. Herring rolls and Brock again refuses the hooks and lays on Herring's back smothering him. Brock tries for the RNC without the hooks and subsequently loses position. Heath manages to get back up, throws a knee which Brock catches and they go back to the ground. No matter where Heath rolls, Brock just rides him like a blanket to the end of the round. Brock gets up giggling at Heath Herring and then hugs him.
Brock Lesnar wins by unanimous decision
Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch
R1 - Jon Fitch comes out swinging to start round one and GSP shoots in and gets the double. Jon tries for a guillotine to start but then falls back into a more formal guard with hand control. Jon tries to work his leg up for a triangle possibility and GSP pays him back with a nice punch to the face. GSP then transitions to half guard but doesn't maintain it as Jon tries to roll for a single. GSP reverses it with a single of his own and Jon goes back to his back. They break and GSP gives him a right for his efforts. GSP then stuns Jon with another right and pours on the GNP with all his strength. Jon fights out of it though and remains calm and coherent. GSP calms down a little but the damage is done and Jon is bleeding. GSP tees up with the hook punches as Jon tries to get back to his feet. He stuns Fitch yet again and continues to throw hooks from hi knees, ending up in Jon's guard. GSP opens up yet another cut with some elbows and passes guard, eventually ending up with full mount to end the round
R2 - Second round starts with Jon pawing at the champ who gets the first shot in. Jon finally gets a nice body shot but GSP lands a punch, kick combo. They circle for a while feeling each other out but neither getting an advantage. GSP's jab is a little faster than Jon can block but Jon's body shots are landing uncontested. GSP tries for a spinning back kick but just barely misses, his hand combos are coming crisp and landing though. Jon lands a flush right and follows up with a body shot that briefly pauses the champion. GSP shoots but Jon stuffs the shot successfully and then follows up with great hand combos that are landing. GSP tries a spinning back kick just as the round expires.
R3 - Jon lands a nice punch but GSP lands a flush right that drops Jon and jumps on his back. Jon barely recovers but GSP goes for the RNC. Jon reverses out somehow and ends up in guard. Jon is now bleeding profusely from his face and the mat is covered with blood stains. Fitch is not trying to pass the guard but when he does, GSP squirts out the back and ends up in Jon's guard. Fitch gets to his knees but GSP throws a knee to his shoulder. They mutually get back to their feet and Jon almost lands a nice knee. GSP mixes up his combos with some kicks and when Jon tries to reply with kicks of his own, GSP catches and tries for an unsuccessful single. GSP lands yet another right hook as a counter, then a flush knee, then a kick to Jon's grill. The only thing keeping Fitch up is the cage. GSP gets the double and slams Fitch to the ground to end the round.
R4 - Jon gamely comes out for the fourth round but his face looks like hamburger. He gets a plumb which GSP immediately fights off. Jon does get a punch in that cuts GSP and even throws a head kick that gets checked. Jon is throwing but his hands are dropping and GSP is taking advantage. Jon tries to shoot in for a single and GSP stuffs it. Jon gets a nice right in and GSP kicks a little to high and hits the groin. They trade for a little while, both collecting their breath for the next outburst. Jon finally ducks under and gets the single but GSP's balance is so good that he is able to hop all the way across the cage on one leg. The guy is inhuman with his balance. When Jon lets go, GSP returns the favor with an immediate single and a takedown into Jon's guard. GSP goes for a heel hook at the buzzer but it slips and the horn sounds.
R5 - They come out to start the round with a great show of respect. GSP then throws a left hook that slightly staggers Jon. GSP is moving around like it's first round and Jon is not as crisp as he used to be. GSP gets a takedown and then sits in Jon's guard throwing body-body-head. GSP finally rears up and throws 2 good lefts which Jon answers with an armbar try. They finally get back up with 2 minutes to go and GSP hits with his lightning jab and then goes for an immediate takedown. They struggle for awhile but GSP is doing his best impression of a blanket. Jon tries to stand up but GSP just sweeps him back to the mat and the bout ends with GSP on top. Both kneel on the mat in front of each other, hugging in sportsmanship after the horn.
George St. Pierre wins by unanimous decision and is still UFC welterweight champion>
