Two Middleweight Fights Added to UFC 90

Two middleweight bouts were added to UFC 90, scheduled for Oct. 25th in Chicago, Ill, according to MMAWeekly. The card is headlined by Anderson Silva defending his title against Patrick Cote but will also feature Matt Horwich taking on Ricardo Almeida and Goran Reljic dropping from Light Heavyweight to take on Thales Leites.

Matt Horwich, an ex-IFL fighter, will be making his debut in the UFC. Matt brings an excellent JJ and cagey striking game to the UFC along with a 23-10 record. Matt fought for the IFL Middleweight championship after winning three in a row but lost to Ryan McGivern via decision.

Ricardo Almeida was on his way to middleweight title contention before being derailed by Patrick Cote. After a four year layoff, the BJJ master made a splash in the UFC with a great submission victory against Rob Yundt. Now the Renzo Gracie student needs to demonstrate his mastery of Jiu-Jitsu against another grappling specialist, Matt Horwich.

Goran Reljic is a relative newcomer to the UFC although he is undefeated in his MMA pro career at 8-0. Starting out at Heavyweight, he punched out Wilson Gouveia's ticket at UFC 84 in the second round. Now he's dropping weight to take on Light Heavyweight title contender Thales Leites who recently won a split decision against Nathan Marquardt.

The full rumored card is as follows:

-Anderson Silva vs. Patrick Cote
-Thiago Alves vs. Diego Sanchez
-Fabricio Werdum vs. Junior dos Santos
-Tyson Griffin vs. Sean Sherk
-Spencer Fisher vs. Melvin Guillard
-Thales Leites vs. Goran Reljic
-Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Horwich
-Hermes Franca vs. Gleison Tibau
-Pete Sell vs. Josh Burkman
-Rich Clementi vs. TBA
