The Rumor mill is abuzz with yet another major network deal, this time between NBC and Strikeforce. Apparently NBC wants a MMA highlight show to run right before Saturday Night Live. Strikeforce who is starting to expand outside California appears to be the organization to provide the content, according to an exclusive MMAJunkie.com contact with the organization.

The move, if true, would not be surprising as CBS has already committed to 4 LIVE presentations of EliteXC over the next year and this maneuver by NBC is seen as a lateral move to counter that programming. Although it would only be highlights, the programming would definitely be a marketing success for the smaller Strikeforce organization, even in its late time slot.

NBC earlier tried to court the UFC but with Wired and Unleashed already on competing networks, they obviously were not interested in yet another highlight show.
