We received news today from Mario Sperry that boxer and MMA fighter Edson Draggo was in a serious motorcycle accident in Rio de Janeiro.

”I received a link from Sul (unclear as to who he is) saying that he (Draggo) had been in a motorcycle accident. I called Thiago Silva, who was at his home at the time, and he had told me that he didn’t know what had happened to Draggo. He (Drago) had gone out on his motorcycle the previous night and did not return.

In a phone call placed with American Top Team fighter Thiago Silva, who is sharing an apartment with Draggo in Rio de Janeiro, he stated “He went out late last night and did not return. We were told, however, that the accident was severe and that the athlete’s appearance remained intact. According to sources in the hospital, Draggo is not close to death.

Draggo was in Rio de Janeiro to train with BTT and Thiago Silva for his bout scheduled in July, where he was in advanced negotiations for a bout agreement.
