Jeremy Horn, the perrenial journeyman of the UFC, has suffered major injury and been forced to withdraw from his fight against Wilson Gouveia on UFC Fight Night 15. He will purportedly be replaced by Ryan Jensen, according to MMAJunkie.com
Jeremy started losing grip approximately a month ago and went to see a physician about the problem thinking it was broken. Apparently, it wasn't a break but torn tendons and ligaments. “The doctor said the wrist is just one of those things that sometimes a break is actually easier because you fix it and cast it and let it heal,” Horn said in the report.
“But with sprains and tears and stuff like that, there’s nothing you can really do with except try and stay off of it and let it heal. I’m hoping [I’ll return to the UFC]. I’m just going to keep training as much as I can around my hand. Hopefully they’ll have somebody get hurt and fall out in a future show again and I’ll be ready to go.”
Ryan Jensen, the replacement to fight Wilson Gouveia, is returning after a brief stint outside the Octagon. Jensen previously entered the UFC with a decent 11 and 1 record but then subsequently lost to Thales Leites, top contender for the middleweight title occupied by Anderson Silva, and Demian Maia. Outside the UFC, Ryan has since recorded two consecutive wins to earn his wings for another try with the UFC. |
