Sherdog is reporting that former IFL hard-hitter Chris Horodecki (12 – 1) and WCF and UFC veteran Dan Lauzon (10 – 2) will fight on Affliction’s second event, dubbed “Reckoning”, on October 11th.
Horodecki is a dynamite striker trained by Shawn Tompkins who is known for setting a blistering and bruising pace in his lightweight bouts. Fighting for the Los Angeles Anacondas, he carried his seven-fight win streak in the IFL against Ryan Schultz before succumbing to strikes in the first round of their rematch. The bout is considered to be a “Fight of the Year” candidate for 2007.
Dan Lauzon is the younger brother of The Ultimate Fighter, Season 5 cast member Joe Lauzon. He has made a name for himself by being the youngest fighter in the UFC when he took on Spencer Fisher at just 18 years old at UFC 64 in October 2006. Despite that being his only appearance in the octagon, he has gone on to fight in several east coast promotions including Cage Fury Fighting Championships, World Championship Fighting, and Combat Zone.
Affliction’s second event is scheduled to take place October 11th at the Thomas and Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. The headlining bout will be between Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski and Josh “The Babyface Assassin” Barnett, where the winner will face newly-crowned WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko. |
