Cung Le vs. Frank Shamrock, two of San Jose's finest Mixed Martial Artists, will finally meet in the cage. EliteXC and Strikeforce will be putting their heads together and airing this historic meeting of superstars Live on Showtime.

Frank Shamrock, ex-UFC champion and ex-IFL coach, is an explosive fighter who has won 2 of his last 3 events. In his last fight, He flattened the New York Bad Ass in the second round with an amazing barrage of strikes; The fight before that, he was disqualified for illegal knees to the back of Renzo's head. In 2006 he fought and won against Cesar Gracie. Frank was previously the middleweight UFC champion before stepping down because of a contract dispute.

Cung Le, his opponent, is a master in his own right. A San Shou champion, this San Jose native transitioned to MMA in 2006 and has racked up five wins over various fighters in Strikeforce. Sam Morgan, Tony Fryklund, Jason Von Flue, Brian Warren, and Mike Altman have all fallen to this dynamic fighter.

Both fighters will be tested as the bar is raised for each of them. Frank will be a true test for Cung Le to see if his MMA game has risen to the next level and Cung Le will be the first young and hungry opponent that he has faced in a long time.

Both have everything to lose in that they are equally known within the San Jose community and vying for the minds and hearts of the MMA fan. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell as March 29th approaches.
