Brandon Vera, the newly minted Light Heavyweight, will be fighting Keith Jardine in the U.K. for UFC 89 in October. The matchup has been in the rumor mill for the last week or so but finally was confirmed by a press release and the appearance of the matchup on the events page on the UFC site.

Brandon Vera recently came under fire for his lackluster win against Reese Andy, an IFL veteran, but it's to be noted that the fight was his first at Light Heavyweight and his first weight cut in years.

He will be taking on Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine, an up-and-down fighter who inexplicably won against Chuck Liddell (split decision) via leg kicks and Forrest Griffin but has losses against the likes of Wanderlei Silva, Houston Alexander, and Stephan Bonnar.

UFC 89, scheduled for Oct. 18th, will air for free in the U.S. ON SPIKE TV.
