Andre Gusmao, IFL champion, is slated for the August 9th UFC card, UFC 87: Seek and Destroy, and will be fighting a late replacment in Jon Jones, Battlecage Xtreme veteran and USKBA champion. He was originally rumored to be fighting Tomasz Drwal, who dropped for unknown reasons, and then Razak Al-Hussan. However, a chest injury to Al-Hussan allowed Jon Jones the opportunity to step up to the table.

Andre Gusmao has not fought since his win against Mike Ciesnolevicz that garnered him the IFL championship. In his two years with the IFL he managed to garner four straight victories that included two against Mike C., but it remains to be seen whether the highly exciteable Renzo Gracie fighter can step up his game for the big show.

Andre's opponent, Jon Jones, is riding a 6 fight win streak with two in the BCX league. His last win was against Moyses Gabin which garnered him the USKBA championship. This will be his first invite to the UFC.

Either way, both are top notch fighters which will allow the talent rich UFC 205 division to only get richer.
