Strikeforce mixed martial arts (MMA) will return to entertainment mogul Hugh Hefner’s world-famous Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA with a star-studded lineup of cage fights on Saturday, September 20th.

Hulk Hogan and Kimbo Slice have been tapped to star in a new children's 3D movie, titled “Kung Fu U.” The film is by Stereo Vision Entertainment and the plot is your typical "kids go learn self-defense and end up saving the teachers".

EliteXC's CBS card "Unfinished Business" failed miserably at the gate with only 3,701 tickets sold, 2,871 tickets given away, and 2,023 tickets unused for a total Live gate of $268,715.

the CSAC (California State Athletic Commission) has released the salaries and medical suspensions for EliteXC's recent CBS card "Unfinished Business". The total damage was over half a million dollars in salaries and 11 medical suspensions.

The UFC, considered the predominant MMA promotion in the world, is acting a bit childish by releasing a "Double-Rods" press release concerning their "ratings coup" from the last weekend. The Zuffa-owned organization stated in a press release that the UFC 84 re-broadcast drew more in the 18-34 male demographic (433,000) than EliteXC on CBS (341,000). Statement of facts are standard procedure, but they continue on and compare EliteXC to XFL and Kimbo to "He Hate Me".

Gary Shaw, President, and Doug Deluca, CEO, have officially resigned from EliteXC. According to the SEC filing, both will stay on as "consultants" with the company.

Jame Irvin recently tasted defeat at the hands of Anderson Silva July 19th and subsequently tested positive for Methadone and Oxymorphone, both banned substances. He has 20 days to respond before disciplinary action is handed down.

Brandon Vera, the newly minted Light Heavyweight, will be fighting Keith Jardine in the U.K. for UFC 89 in October. The matchup has been in the rumor mill for the last week or so but finally was confirmed by a press release and the appearance of the matchup on the events page on the UFC site.

Scott Smith apparently broke his hand in the first round against Robbie Lawler, this according to the Carmichael Dave Show in Sacramento, California. This phenomenon could explain the tentative behavior of Smith in the secound round that led to him being trapped on the cage and on the receiving end of the vicious knee to the ribs, putting the UFC veteran out of the fight.

Andre Gusmao, IFL champion, is slated for the August 9th UFC card, UFC 87: Seek and Destroy, and will be fighting a late replacment in Jon Jones, Battlecage Xtreme veteran and USKBA champion. He was originally rumored to be fighting Tomasz Drwal, who dropped for unknown reasons, and then Razak Al-Hussan. However, a chest injury to Al-Hussan allowed Jon Jones the opportunity to step up to the table.
