UFC Fight Night 13 is shaping up to be a stellar night. Good enough, on paper, for PPV but "Hallellujah", its on free TV. (Spike TV). "Wait a second, there has to be a catch.", is what you are probably thinking. There is. Spike TV will probably only show 4 fights of an otherwise stellar card due to the two hour time limit.

The UFC's first foray into Canada nearly sold out in their Fight Club Pre-Sale. Any person can purchase a "Fight Club" membership ($75.00) and one of the perks is they gain access to tickets before they are made available to the public. Those who paid for the opportunity to purchase tickets for UFC 83, apparently did so gladly and in record numbers to the tune of 21,000. This according to the UFC Newsletter.

Owned Entertainment, Inc. announced today that veteran MMA fighter and veteran UFC fighter Shonie ‘Mr. International’ Carter has been cast for the Role of ‘Eric’.

UFC Fight Night 13, scheduled for April 2 in Colorado, is shaping up to be a very nice card on paper. The event will be broadcast on SPIKE TV for free and features a light-weight fight that has the potential to be a "Fight of the Year" candidate in Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon.

The International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI) and HDNet Fights today announced an agreement to televise the first three IFL events of 2008 live, beginning with the Friday, February 29 card from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. HDNet Fights will also air the April 4 card live from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., and the May 16 event from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Each two hour show will carry a minimum of five of the eight fights on the card, including no fewer than two championship fights. This is the latest partnership between the IFL and HDNet, which began with the December 29, 2007, IFL Championship event from Mohegan Sun.

UFC 81 Salaries and Payouts have been released and there is not a 3k/3k in sight. The figures included do not have any personal bonuses that Zuffa might pay their fighters and are only what the company reports to the commission.

The UFC had an official press conference the other day for UFC 83 where they discussed their first encounter into Canada and the main event "Matt Serra vs. George St. Pierre"..

Miletich Fighting Academy middleweight standout Ryan McGivern (Bettendorf, Iowa), recognized as one of the most improved, up-and-coming athletes in the International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI), will fight for the 185-lb. title against current champion Matt “Suave” Horwich (Portland, Ore.), one of three championship matchups at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, February 29. McGivern replaces Tim Kennedy (Fayetteville, N.C.), an active U.S. Military member who has been called into duty.

On the heels of the Gomi news, World Victory Road picks up another big name. Josh Barnett is scheduled to fight Yoshida on WVR's March 5th showing dubbed "Sengoku".
